So, I reworked this piece and I am pretty darn happy with it. The original is below.
I was never thrilled with this piece, but it was the 20th anniversary H.P. Lovecraft film festival Challenge from Beyond book cover and I can't complain.
However, artist extraordinaire Lee Moyer offer me a ton of advice. He also showed me an artist's work who keeps redoing his paintings until perfect. Why is that a big deal? Well, because I have always operated under the assumption that a piece is done when you finished it. You abandon your babies because art is never finished.
Self-imposed rules are the mind killer and I struggle to free myself from this problem everyday.
So, reworking the piece has brought it closer to what I had envisioned.
